Nicola snapped this photo of my Sadie girl last week. When she's not sniffing out game birds or tracking rodents, she apparently enjoys startling frogs along a pond's edge. Basically, like any good dog, she enjoys every opportunity to get herself muck-covered and smelly.

I photographed this sharp-shinned hawk nest early this morning. The eggs will be hatching within the week, and I intend to return and photograph the chicks. Sharpies are the smallest hawks in North America, and feed themselves entirely on a diet of other birds.
